Sleep Apnea may cause Diabetes

Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) has been associated with insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, and is frequently found in people with type 2 diabetes. SDB not only causes poor sleep quality and daytime sleepiness, but has clinical consequences, including hypertension and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Biogenic Amines in our food.

Biogenic Amines are in many of our foods.  They are neurotransmitters and effect sleep architecture.  Red wine has ten times the amount of these chemicals compared to white wine.  If you are having poor sleep after enjoying a good red wine it might be a good idea to try switching to white wine (after 6 pm) and evaluate if your sleep quality improves.  Should the FDA regulate these chemicals through labeling?
